What can I expect in a counseling session?
- A session usually lasts 45-50 minutes, although longer sessions might be considered useful. We recommend sessions every other week for 4 out of 5 of our clients/families. Between sessions, you may have homework, (journaling, reading a book, or practicing skills) that can help facilitate change more efficiently. We believe having sessions less frequently allows some time for this work to get done. We typically only recommend weekly sessions if the client/family is in crisis.

- We do not accept insurance. We currently believe that our clients are best served by not utilizing insurance for outpatient mental health services. We are happy to explain this philosophy in an initial phone call.
